Sustainability in Equinor

Equinor supports the goals of the Paris Agreement and the pursuit of a net-zero future. We deliver energy the world needs today while developing energy solutions for tomorrow.

As set out in our Energy Transition Plan, we have made significant progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our oil and gas production and we are executing major projects in renewable energy, building an integrated power business and pursuing commercial opportunities in low-carbon solutions. We have an ambition to be a net zero company by 2050.

For Equinor, how we do business is as important as what we do. We are dedicated to contributing to a transition that is just and inclusive. The management of environmental and social impacts are fundamental elements of the transition.

The world’s energy systems are changing. Meeting increasing energy demand while ensuring security of supply, affordability and decarbonisation, is a complex societal challenge.

Equinor is an industry leader in carbon-efficient oil and gas production and is Europe’s largest supplier of natural gas. We are building a value-driven renewable power portfolio and developing decarbonisation solutions for industry in selected markets.
